It is an entirely hand crafted ornament made during the month of February when the artisans' time is more available. For this reason, it is a limited edition work of art, and each is signed, numbered and dated 2007 on the bottom in gold. You can easily see and feel all the work that goes into making this hand crafted ornament gift. The glass is unusally thick--about 2mm as opposed to .3mm. Each ornament starts with a molten ball of glass, is hand-formed and worked by the artist, allowed to cool and then hand-painted. Lastly, each decoration on the ball is carefully outlined or accented with glitter by hand. Given the workmanship and the number of different paint colors and glitter colors, this ball is reminiscent of the lost art found only in small cottage industries in Europe at the turn of the century. We will hand paint the personalized ornament with your family name under the tree.
